date estimated - autcln throwing out all obs. sent another e-mail to bob smith with ebry in 4/2005. wu-lung chang with ebry followed up, and then frederick blume from pbo says on 4/22/05: A further update on this - a remote reset of the receiver didn't change the behavior, it still shows clock resets per hour, well above Trimble's spec of 4/hr for the 4000SSi. This is a hardware problem that Warren can repair here in Boulder, so we will obviously need Dr. Drobeck to saddle up a snowmobile to the top of Lake Mtn. with a replacement receiver. |

north time series shows offset or increased noise. Keith Stark, 10/09/2003: Aris visited MHMS yesterday and found that they placed an 8' fence within the bollards and a new bungalow was placed not much farther away. This was all done in the last several months. Also, they have taken down our freewave antenna while doing roof work. It should be back up next week. |

Last week around 4:00 pm, the SV count goes down to @ 6 SV's at all sites but SACY, which goes down to 4 SV's. I've noticed lately around that time that real-time positions have not been computed due to this.. Not much you can do to this site other then block off the immediate parking spots around the antenna. Very poor location. |

I was viewing various screens in RTKnet, I noticed that the data stopped streaming from SCMS and CAT2. I never selected "reset receivers" or anything like that. This morning we visited SCMS and the baud rate was indeed set to 300. That site is fixed. But not CAT2 which is located in a remote area on Catalina Island. I decided to shutdown GPSnet because I cannot risk this problem happening again. We have seen in the past that when GPSnet is initialized, every so often the baud rate at an OCRTN site will get reset from 56,700 to 300 bps. This stops the flow of data and the only way to reset the baud rate is to visit the site and manually set it. This has been reported to Trimble numerous times but they've never admitted that it's their software doing this. |

|
| islk |
20030629 |
It is likely that the station has been severely damaged or destroyed by a wildfire. 07/07/2003: The ISLK site survived the Lake Isabella fire. The seismic network has a station in the same place, and one of their technicians inspected the area and reports that our monument (including dome) appears undamaged. The receiver and auxiliary equipment were inside a concrete bunker that survived the fire; a wooden structure on top of the bunker was completely destroyed. Power and phone lines were also completely destroyed, so ISLK will be offline for awhile. |

No data from site for two days. vncviewer connects and opens but does not respond thereafter. FTP connectivity is fine...but shows no data since day 069. 04/03/2003 update: javier got data collection to resume. able to ftp small files, but 0 bytes transferred on larger ones. we suspect firewall software has been installed. 4/10/2003 update: unable to ftp to pc. 06/09/2003 - Javier, local visit to SPMX, replaced fan and power supply. Troubleshooting via telephone conv. with Michael Scharber with local network (UNAM) technician. Still no firewall access back through port 20 (data) via ftp. Will provide Javier with new script to PUSH data to sopac instead. 06/10/2003: javier installed new script. unable to push large files to sopac. 06/25/2003 - Javier, UNAM network technician (Urania), David Malveaux and Michael Scharber phone communications to determine cause of ftp transfer barrier. |

Javier contacted local personnel and negotiated for machine state reboot or wincron restart. Data flowing again. Though, vnc connectivity through firewall seems chronic.

unable to connect to site. art andrew: I just got a phone call from a city of Irvine employee concerning the phone line at TRAK. They are adding 2 additional lines and want to relocate the existing 2 lines to the trailer which is about 100' north of where the lines are. This looks like a good time to upgrade TRAK to the wireless radios. This site should be our first priority when the equipment comes in. |

We experienced a power failure which exhausted the both the main UPS system for the computer room and the 3-12v battery bank attached to the receiver as secondary power. Our systems engineer was able to bring the UPS power back up about 7 am yesterday morning. We lost about 13 hours of data in two gaps starting with epoch (05-5-14 22:3:30) to (05-5-15 2:17:49) then from epoch (05-5-15 2:23:14) to epoch (05-5-15 11:14:13). |
20050515 |
I'm planning on switching to a local UPS for the receiver since I think it will have a higher availably and continuing to use batteries as a secondary power system.

local radio coverage surveyor reports: almost everything that is metal is heavily rusted and is almost falling down. The fences are down in several areas. The site is full of weeds. The electrical power supply system is severely corroded, and several junction boxes require replacement. I noticed that the rotor disk in the kWh meter was not moving, but the transformer feeding main service was humming. The signs identifying the site have either faded to illegibility or have fallen down. The electrical supply system will soon succumb to the corrosive salt air |
